Blogwars 1750 T'au List

Welcome children of the Plague father to another Sunday morning why am I not still in bed post. I submitted my list earlier in the week for the approval of Alex over on From The Fang. After reading his post on how everyone was entering into the spirit of the special character lists, I decided to publish my list as it doesn't have a special character in unlike the honourable gent Firewasp from Ignatum who is also bringing T'au.

I haven't taken a special for two reasons, firstly the T'au specials are over priced and with the exception of Shadow Sun are more trouble than they are worth and secondly I don't own any of the specials.

Citadel Finecast

So… exciting news with the announcement of the Citadel Finecast range, due out from the 28th May… all those tricky metal models with annoyingly heavy components to pin, soon to be a thing of the past. Sounds good to me :)

After seeing some screenshots on games-workshop.com I’m impressed by the quality and can’t wait to get my hands on some of them myself… but where to start… I’m now regretting my purchase of Warlord Queek Headtaker in metal only a month ago, as his large trophy rack looks almost certain to fall off at inopportune moments. If only I had waited…

And my Big Mek with Kustom Force Field… and my Terminator Librarian… and my Painboy… and (blah blah blah)… NOOOO!!!!

However I’m very excited to see if original sculpts will be released as well as the remolds of existing models, I’m hoping for a space marine captain with a Relic Blade as I’ve always fancied striking with my Initiative 5 at Strength 6, specially seeing as my Crimson Fists army tends to be geared around power fists (I hate striking last!). A nice model with 2 Lightning Claws wouldn’t go amiss for me either (not that I’m dissing the single Lightning Claw included in the plastic captain set, I wouldn’t dream of that :s).

I’d be interested to know what miniatures people want as their first Citadel Finecast purchase?

Trialing the light box

Good morning minions of the plague father Sunday has rolled around again quicker than I would have liked and as promised I've cracked out the light box I treat myself to last week and don't think it has gone too badly.

My T'au cadre has volunteered to be guinea pigs despite only being done to a table top standard (to meet the requirements for Blogwars).

First up is my name sake Shas'O Shashar.

For Blogwars he will be running as a Shas'el

Next is his trusty shield drone Bob, which for a mighty 15 points has been worth his weight in gold.

1 of 8 home made shield drones which were hugely cheaper than the metal GW ones

One of my proud Shas'ui wielding a pulse rifle, hopefully a new codex will make these guys worth taking as they are quite a nice model despite having tons of mould lines.

Everyone loves mandatory +1 troop choices

And finally a group shot to show that they do hold coherency across the Cadre.

I always forget how chunky the battlesuits are

I hope you have enjoyed the preview of my Cadre and any tips for improving my pictures are welcome.

Road to Blogwars

With only three weeks to go until Blogwars I really should be painting my T'au cadre but have had my arm twisted to put up the post I have been putting off.

Blogwars is a blogspot community event being run by  From The Fang and should make for a day of gaming, drinking and general good times all round which is being held at Maelstrom Games in Mansfield.

This is the first tournament I will be attending and with my T'au having nothing painted it will be a challenge that could ruin me. As I have been mightily slack with them despite falling in love with the T'au as soon as I picked them up from a friend to help him get out of 40k my painting had been ignored due to a lack of games giving me no motivation.

This leaves me in the unfortunate position of painting 76 models up in seven weeks since I decided to go within 5 minutes of hearing about a tournament within an hours drive and didn't really think about the work this would cause me while trying to not have my wife kill me.

This does mean I won't be winning the best painted award and have made my peace with this, but at least having my army to table top standard is a push in the right direction ( I just bought a light box so will get some pictures up of them when I get back on schedule).

Sorry to cut my first post a little short but the massed Kroot on my desk are looking like they need the paint I promised them sooner rather than later.

Greetings!

Greetings minions of the Great Unclean One and welcome to The Cupboard of Nurgle. Hopefully this will turn out to be a nice hub of information for fellow gaming hobbyists and if you are lucky you may be blessed by the lord of decay himself when you open his cupboard.
At the moment we are still doing some tinkering with the colour, graphics and the layout, so you may notice some changes in these early days, but we thought we would kick off our introduction post.
Let's start with a little about ourselves and why we have created this blog. We are a group of friends, who are big Warhammer 40k fans looking at branching out in the gaming world. At the moment we are looking at getting in Warhammer Fantasy Battles, but in the past we have dabbled in a bit of BloodBowl.
We have decided to create this blog after myself and O'Shashar signed up for Blog Wars (hosted by the guys at From The Fang) in June. We got wind of this through our good friend at the 40k Project.
After some discussion we decided to get some heads together and create our own blog to give our views, tips, reviews on miniatures and releases, as well as showing off our current projects and more then likely having the odd rant now and then.
Anyway for the time being my friends I will be signing out and remember "Death to the False Emperor!"
