Good morning minions of all ages I apologise it has taken me so long to post how I fared but I have had a busy week of making up for 7 weeks of trying to paint my T'au in time ( I managed it but compared to some of the beautiful paint jobs at Blogwars it was a clearly sub par).
Firstly I would like to thank Alex for organising this event which went very smoothly and the staff at Maelstrom for providing such a good quality gaming environment with plenty of good looking terrain (if not a little sparse on some tables). The only low point of the day was the buffet but I did spend a long time checking out the painted armies so may have been better when it was first brought out.
As this was the first tournament I have attended I was looking forward to seeing how the day would play out. My first game was against a beautiful Imperial Guard army who ended up winning joint best painted army brought to the table by Karitas and I couldn't have asked for a friendlier guy to ease me in to the day. The game ended in a draw on turn 5 after me seeming to have all the luck in the game with only failing a handful of saves all game but needing one more turn to claim his objective.
My second game was against Adam with his Space Wolves which was a brutal game played mostly in my deployment zone which did highlight a slight lack of room in between the tables but otherwise a very close game with a lot of blood spilled on both sides and ending in my second draw of the day.
The final game was against Simo with a Long Fang heavy Space Wolves list which didn't look good for my Suits. Another very close game which at turn 5 I was barely holding on to a win by feeding Bjornn Suits to try and keep him from contesting. Unfortunately it was not meant to be and turn 6 was rolled for and Bjornn stormed forward into 3" of my left objective & his Rune Priest squad chased my cowardly broadsides off and consolidated into 3" of my right objective making the game end at 1-0 to Simo. Mercifully it didn't go to turn 7 so the remnants of my army that remained were spared.
In the end I took 21st out of 26, which was 5 places higher than I was expecting for my first outing and had a thoroughly enjoyable day which will look forward to doing again. I didn't take a camera with me so I have lovingly borrowed a picture from The 40k Project of my army on judging table in all its table top glory.

Blogwars 1750 T'au List
Welcome children of the Plague father to another Sunday morning why am I not still in bed post. I submitted my list earlier in the week for the approval of Alex over on From The Fang. After reading his post on how everyone was entering into the spirit of the special character lists, I decided to publish my list as it doesn't have a special character in unlike the honourable gent Firewasp from Ignatum who is also bringing T'au.
I haven't taken a special for two reasons, firstly the T'au specials are over priced and with the exception of Shadow Sun are more trouble than they are worth and secondly I don't own any of the specials.

Trialing the light box
Good morning minions of the plague father Sunday has rolled around again quicker than I would have liked and as promised I've cracked out the light box I treat myself to last week and don't think it has gone too badly.
My T'au cadre has volunteered to be guinea pigs despite only being done to a table top standard (to meet the requirements for Blogwars).
First up is my name sake Shas'O Shashar.
Next is his trusty shield drone Bob, which for a mighty 15 points has been worth his weight in gold.
One of my proud Shas'ui wielding a pulse rifle, hopefully a new codex will make these guys worth taking as they are quite a nice model despite having tons of mould lines.
And finally a group shot to show that they do hold coherency across the Cadre.
I hope you have enjoyed the preview of my Cadre and any tips for improving my pictures are welcome.

For Blogwars he will be running as a Shas'el |

1 of 8 home made shield drones which were hugely cheaper than the metal GW ones |

Everyone loves mandatory +1 troop choices |

I always forget how chunky the battlesuits are |

Road to Blogwars
With only three weeks to go until Blogwars I really should be painting my T'au cadre but have had my arm twisted to put up the post I have been putting off.
Blogwars is a blogspot community event being run by From The Fang and should make for a day of gaming, drinking and general good times all round which is being held at Maelstrom Games in Mansfield.
This leaves me in the unfortunate position of painting 76 models up in seven weeks since I decided to go within 5 minutes of hearing about a tournament within an hours drive and didn't really think about the work this would cause me while trying to not have my wife kill me.
This does mean I won't be winning the best painted award and have made my peace with this, but at least having my army to table top standard is a push in the right direction ( I just bought a light box so will get some pictures up of them when I get back on schedule).
Sorry to cut my first post a little short but the massed Kroot on my desk are looking like they need the paint I promised them sooner rather than later.
