Nurgle Lord Complete

Good afternoon fellow plague bearers, many of you may know that a couple of weeks back we reached 50 followers. Myself, Dorn's Arrow and O'Shashar are each painting a Nurgle Lord in a mini competition to commemorate this mile stone. The model was an obvious choice for the theme of our blog.

I have to say I have relished the opportunity to paint the Nurgle Lord. I have taken my inspiration for my paint scheme from the one by the 'Eavy Metal team. I have given it a slight twist and I am overall pleased with the outcome. The amour did not turn out as dark as I wanted and I am still unsure of the bloody pus coming from his belly. Anyway I am sure you all dying to see my Nurgle Lord so here are some pictures below.

If you wish to enter our competition in hope winning mine or my fellow bloggers Nurgle Lord all you have to do is become a follower to get an entry into the prize draw and you can get a 2nd entry if you post about our give away on your own blog linking to our original post. However to try and make it fair you can only win 1 of the 3 models.

I am sure my fellow bloggers will have pictures of their painted Lords soon. Thank you dropping by and remember to spread Nurgle's blessings far and wide.

  3. Looks nice. I really like the rusting on the armour. Very realistic.

  4. @Dalinair - that could be because I tried a slightly different way to light up my light box and so the pictures came out brighter.

I did want his armour to be a darker green, but the skin I went for bloated and decomposing. A bit like a dead body being left in water and it swells up, like the zombie in walking dead season 2 ;).

@Dorn's Arrow - Cheers buddy, I think I prefers yours over mine and I will certainly help take photo's of your model with my light box.

@Cameron - Thanks alot, very simple really. Stippled on Scorched Brown followed by Blazing Orange. The dimples in the armour I did with Boltgun Metal followed by a Gryphonne Sepia wash.

  6. Great work there, nice to see it at last ( he kept it completely under wraps ). Tough call between yours and Dorn's Arrow's models as I really like them both. Hopefully going to get some time with light box myself this weekend so can see my attempt at this guy.
I agree with you though that it is a really good model to paint.

  7. @Hotpanda - Just trying to remember, I believe I did Tallarn Flesh basecoat, Ogryn Flesh wash, Tallarn flesh layer, 50:50 Tallarn Flesh + Rotting Flesh, Pure Rotting Flesh. I gave a 2 light light Laviathan Purple washes around the gut opening and then re-highlighted with rotting flesh to try and make it looks lightly bruised.

@O'Shashar - I think Dorn's Arrow has painted it better then me I will get to see it in person soon which I am looking forward to. Looking forward to see your take on the model aswell.

  8. Good luck with your membership drive. I've never done a contest on my miniature painting blog, of course I don't exactly paint much these days. I'm semi-retired until sixth edition and a new Chaos Codex, though I also have projects on hiatus so I'll probably start up before then, I have a large exam in June I should be studying for so that is the real reason or another one for no painting and less blogging.
